good ole halifax
February 22, 2008
I recently posted that I was going to Nova Scotia…Halifax to be exact. For those who aren’t sure where Halifax is, it’s a town located in the Nova Scotian province in eastern Canada. Geographically, the province is just north of Maine.
So my trip to Halifax came on behalf of the Hawaii Visitors & Convention Bureau (HVCB). I work with McNeil Wilson Communications, who handles the public relations for HVCB. Each year, the bureau attends various conferences to meet with travel journalists across North America. For Canadian travel writers, we usually go to the Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC). In the past, the conference has been held in Calgary, Alberta; London, Ontario; and Newfoundland.
In any case, it was a great trip. The weather was a bit cold but manageable. It was actually great at times, especially the last day when it snowed! Here’s some more pics from my recent visit to Halifax.
Hopefully I’ll get to attend TMAC again next year when it’s in Richmond, British Columbia. It’ll lead up to the 2010 Vancounver Winter Olympics. Whoo hoo!
